An infrared sauna is a dry sauna that uses the invisible infrared portion of the light spectrum to generate heat. The infrared produced by the sauna is much closer, so we can get the booth much warmer. Just like from the sun, the infrared rays warm you more than they warm the booth. That’s why the infrared sauna works at temperatures of 120-150 degrees compared to a traditional sauna that needs to get to 185-195 degrees. The heat generated by the sauna is extremely beneficial as it will help remove impurities at the cellular level, help relax muscles and relieve tension, allowing you to relax while balancing your body’s level of cortisol; your body’s primary stress hormone.

All of our locations have Sunlighten Saunas. These saunas use near, mid, and far-infrared waves which allow us to reap all the benefits to maintain wellness.

We suggest that you drink a minimum of 8 oz. of water to prepare your body for an increase in core body temperature.

If you are just beginning with regular sauna use, it is important to start slow and get your body accustomed to infrared therapy. We recommend utilizing the sauna 3-4 days per week beginning with 20-minute sessions, gradually increasing toward a 40-minute session.

All of our saunas are private to ensure you are also entering a state of relaxation. We provide towel service and a cold towel to help cool off after your session. As you start using the saunas, you may not even sweat the first few times, but just know that sweating will increase over time allowing you to feel rejuvenated.

Clients will notice short- term benefits immediately. We really suggest sticking with a regime to experience the long-term benefits: Just as with exercise or eating healthy, Infrared saunas take time and consistency to see results.

We recommend using a product called Sweet Sweat to help increase sweating and circulation to boost results. We also have waist trimmers for purchase in store to help tone your stomach.

Once your session is complete, we recommend you rehydrate with at least 24 oz. of water or an electrolyte drink. It is also beneficial if you dry off and cool down naturally. Some clients will go home to a refreshing shower.
